This series consists of copy registers of mineral leases on the Waggaman (Darwin) goldfield. The registers contain the following columns; number, total number of shares, locality, area, application, lease, name of lease, registered lessees, transfers, exemptions, rent, and encumbrances. All volumes were annotated across the front cover "no entries 1/11/85". NTRS 3087/P1 includes one register which contains nos.ML749B-ML997B. In NTRS 3087/P2 the registers are listed with the following information; register number (description 1), register title and mineral lease number range (description 2). The Mining Registrar, Darwin, maintained two sets of registers for Darwin district and the Mines Branch, Head Office (relating to mining tenements and leases). The Mines Branch, Head Office, was moved to Alice Springs in 1942 and remained there until 1953 when it was moved back to Darwin.
