Function / Content

The series consists of commercial 6 inch by 4 inch colour prints and negatives of photographs taken by the official Government Photographer of the Northern Territory. The images cover the Northern Territory with a heavy focus on formal occassions such as ceremonies, openings, receptions, delegations and presentations involving elected officials. This collection may contain images of Aboriginal people who have died, which may cause sadness and distress to their relatives. No offence has been intended by making these images available. Care and discretion should be used when viewing these images.
