This series consists of survey plans referred to by the Department of Lands as the "LTO" (Land Titles Office) series. The plans record the survey detail for the area designated, including portion or lot number, area of property, location of adjoining property and streets. The plans are certified by a licensed surveyor and include references to the file number, instructions, field book, drawn by, map reference, date examined, survey approval by delegate of the Surveyor-General, and subdivision application to the Registrar-General. A legend and azimuth reference are included. The plans are in a scale of chains to inches then changes mid-1972 to centimetres to metres. These plans vary in size and are recorded on tracing paper. The LTO plans were introduced from 1960 and restricted to subdivisions under the Land Title Act.
