This series consists of monthly statements by holders of land taken up for mining within goldfields or mineral fields according to Mining Ordinance requirements. The statements were required to be furnished to the warden or mining registrar not later than the 10th of each month. Battery managers using machinery for extracting minerals, such as at Maranboy and Kurundi Goldfields were also required to furnish statements. Each statement records the year; month; locality; official number or lease of claim; registered name of holder and mine; average number of men employed and if they were working above or underground; work done in feet and if sinking, driving or stoping work; area in acres; name of metal; ore or wash dirt treated in tons; metal or mineral therefrom in tons; estimated value therof in pounds and remarks. The statement has been signed by an owner or manager and stamped by the Mines Branch of NT Administration in Darwin with the date.
