In many of the volumes, the contents inside the register differ from the labelling on the spine. The spine of volume 2 differs from the contents which are ML 253E-ML 496E rather than as labelled; the spine of volume 3 differs from the contents which are ML 532E-ML 738E rather than as labelled; the spine of volume 4 differs from the contents which start at ML 752E rather than as labelled; the spine of volume 5 differs from the contents which are ML 1001E-ML 1075E rather than as labelled; the spine of volume 6 differs from the contents which are ML 1111E-ML 1222E rather than as labelled; the spine of volume 7 differs from the contents which are ML 1430E-ML 1451E rather than as labelled; and the spine of volume 8 differs from the contents which are ML 1452E-ML 1457E rather than as labelled;

Function / Content

This series consists of one register in eight volumes recording mining leases in the Tennant Creek, Warramunga goldfield, District E. The register records the total number of shares, the locality, the area applied for, the date of application, lease details, registered lessees, details of transfers, details of encumbrances, exemptions and rent.and survey fee details. Any amalgamations, forfeitures and surrenders are also noted and in some instances, the mineral mined. Each volume has an index list taped inside the front cover which records the number, name of leesee and name of mine as well as an MLC number.
