This series consists of copies of The Times, a weekly community newspaper published in Alice Springs by Central Australian Publishers and edited by George Smith. This series represents all but the first 4 issues of this newspaper with the collection starting with volume 1, issue 5 (08/10/1965) and ending with the last edition published volume 2, issue 47 (28/07/1966). Coverage within the newspaper includes local events, local sport, advertisements, book reviews, classifieds and government notices. The Times also included a weekly serial by Peter B English called Uribaia featuring a protagonist of the same name. AV [Adele Viola] Purvis also wrote a column for the paper entitled The Centralia we knew.
