This series consists of registers of adoptions. The entries in the register are numerical by AC number and year, and record the name of the child, names of the applicants, name of solicitors, state or territory where the child was born (including location), and references to dates of the orders made, orders sealed, memo (BDM), ack. [acknowledgement] received. From 1984 the AC prefix was removed from the entries. An index by first initial of first name is located at the front of each register. In some cases the index continues at the rear of the register.
