How to Use the Records

The entries in the registers are in order of allocation of new brand, AAT, BAT, CAT through to TZZ.

Function / Content

This series consists of two registers that record the allocation of three-letter brands to property owners for the management of cattle. Three-letter brands include the letter "T". The registers record the three-letter brand, file number, certificate number, name of owner, name of run or holding, postal address, date of registration, number of registered transfer and remarks. The registers contain details of multtiple owners of the brands with remarks noting transfers and cancellations and the relevant date. Following the end of the three letter brands sequence, volume two includes one page of inverted letter "T" brands and two pages of South Australian brands. Additional pages of three letter brands follow on from these sections.
